Time: Join Today

The Lieutenant Governor’s Challenge is a 12-week based incentive program where participating Virginians set personal physical activity goals and receive points for completing simple 30-minute, everyday physical activities, such as walking, gardening or playing sports.

In addition to the physical component, Virginians can also earn points for eating certain healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables aimed at lowering cholesterol and caloric intake.

By choosing to eat a healthy diet, getting regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, and avoiding smoking you can see heart healthy results in as little as 8 to 10 weeks. Your cardiovascular health risk can drop by as much as 82% by choosing one or more of these healthy habits.

At the end of the 12-week Challenge, each individual who attains a specified number of points for the physical or nutritional challenge will receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal. While the Challenge is a 12-week activity, individuals can begin the program at any time within the next year. After completion of a 12-week period, any participant can set new goals and participate in a new 12-week Challenge.

To sign-up and take on the challenge go to http://www.ltgovernorschallenge.us/ or click on the link.  Go to register and fill out the information.  You can then start working toward your goal and work toward a gold medal.
